However, as it is easy to get there by MTR (Lei Tung Station Exit A1), you can still tour the nearby Aberdeen fishing village by yourself (TIY).

This street was the main dining, shopping and social area for the fishermen living on the sea nearby in the past.

The shops, which sell fishermen the engines, rope, iron chain etc, just show you the area is close to a big fishing village, Aberdeen.

Just one-minute walk, you can reach the waterfront.

You can find two temples for the Fishermen to get protection from the deities related to the sea, the big Hung Shing Temple and the small Kwun Yum Temple.

A lot of fishermen lived on the fishing boats in the typhoon shelter were resettled to those public housing buildings by the government in the past.

This makes Ap Lei Chau Island to be the world record island, the island with highest population density (150,000 people live on 1.3 Kilometre square island!).

It takes about two minutes for the sampan to go to Aberdeen.
