Is this banner the propaganda for Cantonese opera show?

No, it is the anti-telecom fraud propaganda for senior citizens…

This is Hong Kong Police’s new anti-telecom fraud propaganda, which targets at the senior citizens.

The white characters at the top mean swindlers exploit artificial kindness to cheat your money, please remain calm, hang up and find help!

It uses Cantonese opera music performers to publicize fraud prevention because a lot of senior citizens are the fans of those performers and victims of telecom frauds.

The star performer Joyce Koi in the middle is teaching the seniors to identify the swindlers, who pretend to be officials, couriers, your children and your friends.

Actually from the performers’ makeup, we can recognize whether performers are acting the protagonists or villains.

This post is going to give you further details.

Travelers can TIY, tour the Cantonese Opera Education and Information Center to see the interesting interactive exhibition (Take MTR to Ho Man Tin Exit A2, walk about 5 mins to Ko Shan Theatre).
